Strategies he could have used.He could trust God.
Trust - Let Go and let God do the work. All we really have control over is our actions and a gut feeling (or hearts desire) of what we hope the outcome of our lives to be. The rest is up to a higher power greater than our own. Cristiano could trust God that He will provide him with exactly what he needs when he needs it. This would have relaxed his mind from being a perfectionist and would have relieved the stress of Cristiano in trying to provide for his family by himself. Then Ronaldo will rely on God himself and not his powers and talents. This strategy is commonly used by many Christians, from famous people to unheard people. Maintain a positive mind. Although this is similar to what he did, this is very important. Negativity leads people in harsh situations toward frustration and depression. Keeping a positive mind about the future and working slowly towards the goal can distract people from worrying about the past and falling into depression. This would help when Ronaldo falls, or makes a mistake in his life or even when he is in grinding position. He could look forward to the positive future. |
Focusing on FootballGrowing up, Cristiano Ronaldo ignored the poverty he was living in, and stayed focused on football. Although Ronaldo came from humble beginnings, and his dad drank a lot, he didn’t let it affect him, but instead ignored the negative situations and focused on what he loved, playing football. He was kicked out of school for throwing a chair at his teacher because the teacher apparently “disrespected him”, thereafter his mother allowed him to devote his life to soccer.
As a kid, Ronaldo was constantly drawn to the sport. His godfather told British reporters that “All he wanted to do as a boy was play football He loved the game so much he’d miss meals or escape out of his bedroom window with a ball when he was supposed to be doing his homework.” Ronaldo’s burning desire to play and enjoy football allowed him to cope with such harsh situations at such young age. His strategy was quite successful, he became the world's best football player, coped with financial issues of the family and lived his life to the fullest. But on the other hand, because he relied on himself so much, if he stumbled or made a mistake, he would be disappointed in himself. Family supportAlthough Football was a major part of his life, Ronaldo states his family was his biggest support in life and values them the most no matter what: “My family comes first – after that, it’s the football that matters most to me. Money comes after that.”
His second strategy was getting support from the family. This strategy helped him cope with his emotional and mental issues after his father had passed away. But this strategy wasn't as effective when Ronaldo had to move away from his family and live on his own. Although he could still access help from his family, it would have been harder for him because they weren't there with him. |
